Given:-

  • A boy spends 1/3 of his money in a shop.
  • He goes to another shop and spends 1/2 of what was left.
  • He is left with ₹15.

To find:-

  • Total money he had.

Solution:-

Let the total money he has = x

Given that,he spends 1/3 of his money in a shop. Therefore,

Money he spent in the shop:-

➜1/3 (x) = x/3

Money left:-

➜Total money - money he spent in the shop

➜x - x/3

➜(3x - x) /3

➜2x/3

Given,he goes to another shop and spends 1/2 of money left. Therefore,

Money spent:-

➜1/2 (2x/3)

➜ 2x/6

Money left:-

➜2x/3 - 2x/6

➜( 4x - 2x )/6

➜2x/6

➜x/3

Therefore,the remaining money is x/3.

Given that Remaining money is Rs.15

Therefore,

➜x/3 = 15

x = 45

Hence, the total money he has is Rs.45.

Option(B) is correct.
