Given , AB= BC=10 cm

Also given , BE = 8 cm

In right angled ∆ABE ,

AB² = BE² + AE²

AE² = AB² - BE²

AE = √(10)² - (8)²

AE = √(100 - 64)

AE = √36 = 6 cm

6cm

Solution:-

Given, AB = BC = 10cm

BE = 8cm

AE = ??

 • In Quadrilateral ABCD, u can see ∆ABE is a Right Angle Triangle. So, use Pythagoras Theorem,
 • (10)² = (8)² + (AE)²
 • (AE)² = (10)² - (8)²
 • (AE)² = 100 - 64
 • (AE)² = 36
 • AE = √36
 • AE= 6cm
