Given,

  • We have Container of 5 liter and 3 liter.

To measure : 4 liter of water.

There are several ways to measure 4 Ltr of water.

\implies 1st way

We will measure 3 times with 3 liter container, then once we will take out water from 5 liter container.

Mathematically,

(3 + 3 + 3) - 5

= 9 - 5

= 4

\implies 2nd way

We will measure 2 times with 5 liter container, then twice we will take out water from 3 liter container.

Mathematically,

(5 + 5) - (3 + 3)

= 10 - 6

= 4

\implies 3rd way

We will measure twice from 3 liter container and ones take out from 5 liter container. Now, 1 liter of water is remaining and then we will add water in it from 3 liter container.

Mathematically,

((3 + 3) - 5) + 3

= (6 - 5 ) + 3

= 1 + 3

= 4
