Sodium chloride is a compound formed by the reaction of strong base and weak acid and thus it is slightly basic .

so , it tends to give ions in it's aqueous solution.

HCL is an Acid. and acid and bases both gives H+ ions and. 0H- ions in water respectively .

Hence HCL gives ions that is H+ ions.
