a) 5 tonnes of paper
Ans- Let the no. of trees required for 5 tonnes of paper be X
then, 17 trees = 1 tonne
= X trees = 5 tonnes
= X trees = 17×5
= X trees = 80 trees
So, 80/221 fraction of the forest should be used to make 5 tonnes of paper.
b) In the same way , 170/221 trees should be used to make 10 tonnes of paper.

2) To save 7/13 of forest
We have to save 7/13× 221 trees =119 trees.
Thus, we have to save 119÷17 tonnes of paper(because 1 tonne of paper takes 17 trees.).
So, the answer is 7 tonnes of paper to be saved.
