so,

→ Standard form of 8598800 = 8.5988 × 10⁶ .

Solution 2) :-

• Kalahari = 932400 = 9.324 × 10⁵
• Thar = 199430 = 1.9943 × 10⁵
• Gibson = 155400 = 1.554 × 10⁵
• Great Victoria = 647500 = 6.475 × 10⁵
• Sahara = 8598800 = 8.5988 × 10⁶

therefore,

→ Ascending order :- 1.554 × 10⁵ < 1.9943 × 10⁵ < 6.475 × 10⁵ < 9.324 × 10⁵ < 8.5988 × 10⁶ .

Solution 3) :-

→ Area of desert in Africa = Kalahari + Sahara = 8598800 + 932400 = 9531200

so,

→ Standard form 9531200 = 9.5312 × 10⁶ .

Solution 4) :-

→ Kalahari Area : Gibson Area = 932400 : 155400 = 9324 : 1554 = 4662 : 777 = 6 : 1 .
