❤Hola ❤

when unpolarized light of intensity I not passes through the first ball rise like then the intensity of the emergency light is given by

I = Io / 2

now the light of intensity I was on the second polaroid whose axis is inclined at angle of 60 degree with the axis of first polaroid the intensity of emergent light is

I' = I cos ^2 60°

= Io/ 2 (1/2)^2

= Io / 8

therefore ,fraction of incident light transmitted to the system

= I' / Io

= 1/ 8

= 1/8 × 100

= 12.5 %

Answer:

As shown in figure, let Io be the intensity of incident  light on first polariser. After first polariser, intensity get reduced to (Io/2).

After second polariser, intensity becomes (Io/2)cos^2 60 = Io/8
