Given :- AB = 5cm, BC = 7cm, CD = 6cm
To find :- AD
Proof :- Take the points between AB, BC, CD and DA be E,F,G,H
AE = EB ( the length of tangents from a circle are equal ) ----(1)
BF = FC ( the length of tangents from a circle are equal ) ----(2)
CG = GD ( the length of tangents from a circle are equal ) ----(3)
GD = DA ( the length of tangents from a circle are equal ) ----(4)
Adding (1),(2),(3),(4)
AE + BF + CG + GD = EB + FC + GD + DA
AB + CD = BC + AD
5 + 6 = 7 + AD
11 = 7 + AD
11 - 7 = AD
4 = AD
AD = 4 cm
