first we will make it in improper fraction:

1 \frac{1}{2}  =  \frac{3}{2}  \: and \: 1 \frac{6}{7}  =  \frac{13}{7}

Let the required number be x

So according to the question the equation will be:

 \frac{3}{2}\div x =  \frac{13}{7} \\  \frac{3}{2} \times  \frac{1}{x} =  \frac{13}{7} \\  \frac{1}{x}= \frac{3}{2}\times  \frac{7}{13}  \\ x =  \frac{21}{26}

So the required number = 21/26
