An electric bulb is rated 220V and 100W. When it is operated on 110V, what will be the power consumed?

I am attaching an answer to this question as well. In the given answer the equation P= (V^2)/R is used. Now my real question is, can't we use P=VI and solve this question? I tried it and I got a different answer. What does that indicate?
The question doesn't tell anything about the current through the circuit changing.
