Multiply the denominator and the neumarator , with 7 - 4root3

We get,

 \frac{5 + 2 \sqrt{ 3} }{7  + 4 \sqrt{3} }  \times  \frac{7 - 4 \sqrt{3} }{7 - 4 \sqrt{3} }
We get,

11 - 6 \sqrt{3}
This is in the form of

a+b \sqrt{3}
a = 11
b = -6

Hope my answer helps!
