So, x + y = 4500 ------ (1)

Now,

Given that 5% of first part is equal to 10% of the another part.

= > 5% of x = 10% of y

= > 0.05x = 0.1y

= > y = 0.5x ----- (2)

Substitute (2) in (1), we get

= > x + 0.5x = 4500

= > 1.5x = 4500

= > x = 4500/1.5

= > x = 3000.

Substitute x = 3000 in (2), we get

= > y = 0.5(3000)

= > y = 1500.

Therefore, the two parts are 3000 and 1500.
