Please answer the question correctly and step by step.....

If the numerator of a fraction is increased by 1 it's value becomes 3/4 . I fits denominator is increased by 2, it's value becomes 1/2. find the fraction. ​

when numerator increased by 1 then fraction be x+1/y=3/4.............eq..1

when denominator increase by 2 then fraction be x/y+1=1/2............eq2

4x+4=3y

4x-3y=-4...eq1

2x=y+2

2x-y=2eq.........2

now subtract both equation 1 and 2

4x-3y=-4

2x-y=2

now we have to make x or y coefficient equal

4x-3y=-4

4x-2y=4

=-y=-8

y=8

now put y=8 in eq..1

x+1/y=3/4

x+1/8=3/4

4x+4=24

4x=20

x=5
