Momentum before collision = 400*0.025 = 10 kgm/s
Momentum after collision = v* (1.975+0.025) = 2v
Momentum before and after collision will be equal, so,
10 = 2v
V = 5 m/s
So, velocity of mass of bullet + mass of bag = 5 m/s
Loss in kinetic energy = final KE - initial Keep = 1/2*0.025*(400)^2 - 1/2*2*(5)^2 = 2000 - 75 = 1975 J
