Answer:

(a)when the switch is turned on the solenoid will have a magnetic field from p to q the magnet will try to arrange its poles in such a way to attain the most stable configuration , so it will arrange it's north pole in the direction of the field which is from p to q and its south pole with face away from this magnetic field which is from q to p hence its south pole will be face towards q

(b) the north pole of a magnet will align itself with the external magnetic field and the South pole will align itself away from the direction of the external magnetic field

(c) the magnetic field strength of the current carrying solenoid can be increased by increasing the number of turns per unit length and by increasing the current in the solenoid
