compound x would be ethanol (C2H5OH)
compound y would be ethene (C2H4)
compound z would be hydrogen H2
The reaction is
C2H5OH+H2SO4÷C2H4+H2O
Here H2SO4 acts as a catalyst rather dehydrating agent

2) mechanical energy---->electrical energy

3)it is a convex mirror(kindly refer ncert for images formed by it)

4)X is ethanol C2H5OH
Y is ethene
reaction of C2H5OH wid sodium metal gives sodium ethoxide nd a colourless gas H2

reaction:- C2H5OH------->{AT 443K ND H2SO4}CH2=CH2 +H2O

SULPHURIC ACID HERE ACTS AS A STRONG DEHYDRATING AGENT AND HELPS TO CONVERT ETAHANOL TO ETHENE!!

hop it helps
