Let the resistance in parallel= Rp

Let the resistance in total = Rt

the current flowing in the circuit= I

the emf of the battery= V

Current recorded in ammeter = the current flowing in the circuit. (I)

thus,

Rs = 30+ 30 = 60 ohms

1/Rp = 1/60 + 1/20

=> 1/60+ 3/60 = 4/60

1/Rp = 4/60

therefore,

Rp = 15ohms

from the relation,

V=IRt

7.5 = I × 15

I = 7.5/15= 0.5

thus, the reading of ammeter = 0.5 A
