Answer: v = 5√2 m/s = 7 m/s (approx)

Since ball is dropped, it's initial velocity (u) = 0

By the relation

v^2 = u^2 + 2as

Where, a = acceleration ( here it's gravity) & s = height from ground.

v^2 = 0 + 2gs

v^2 = 2 x 10 x 2.5

v = √50

So, v = 5√2 m/s = 7.071 m/s _____(Ans)

So, option d) 7 m/s is the best answer.

I hope it helps you.

Thanks!
