When a sector of radius ' r '

and length of arc ' l ' is folded to form

a cone .

i )Radius of sector(r)= slant height of cone(l)

ii ) length of the arc

= perimeter of the cone = 2πr

Therefore ,

Area of the cone ( A )= Area of the sector

=> A = [( length of an arc )×radius ]/2

=>A = [ (2πr)l ]/2

=> A = πr²l
