Given Equation is (x - 4)^2 = x^2 - 16.

We know that (a - b)^2 = a^2 + b^2 - 2ab

= > x^2 - 8x + 16 = x^2 - 16

= > x^2 - 8x = x^2 - 16 - 16

= > x^2 - 8x = x^2 - 32

= > -8x = -32

= > x = -32/-8

= > x = 4.

Hope this helps!
