Answer:

perimeter is 100cm.

Step-by-step explanation:

perimeter = 2(28)+2pi (r)

[2pi r because 2 semicircle forms a

signle circle]

= 56 +2 (22/7)

= 56 + 2 (22)

= 56 + 44

100 cm.

Question Understanding :-

• The given figure is made up of rectangle and 2 Semicircle. so firstly we will find the perimeter of rectangle then 2 Semicircles or you can consider these two semicicles as one circle

Solution :-

The two semicicles are given

The height of semicircles are 7 cm each

As we know that,

The height and radius of semicircle is equal.

Diameter of the semicircle = 2 * R = 2 * 7 = 14cm

Therefore,

Perimeter of 2 Semicircle = 2 ( πr + d)

Subsitute the required values,

Perimeter of 2 semicircles

= 2 ( 22/7 * 7 + 14)

= 2 ( 22 + 14)

= 2 ( 36)

= 72cm

Now,

The sides of rectangle are 28cm and 14cm

Therefore,

Perimeter of rectangle

= 2( l + B)

= 2 ( 28 + 14)

= 2 * 42

= 84cm

Now,

Total perimeter of the given figure

= Perimeter of 2 semicircles + Perimeter of rectangle

= 72 + 84

= 156cm

Hence, The perimeter of the given figure is 156cm .
