let the age of father is x years and the age of son is y year.

then,

the first equation is-

x-2=(y-2)5

x-2=5y-10

x-5y= -8

the second equation is-

x+5=(y+5)3

x+5=3y+15

x-3y=10

subtracting both of equations-

x-5 -(x-3y)=-8-10

-2y= -18

y=9

putting the value of y in equation no (1)

x-5•9=. -8

x-45= -8

x=37

The age of father is 37 years and the age of son is 9 years
