Let the cost price of the bicycle for A be Rs X
Given A sells the bicycle at profit of 20%
SP of bicycle = CP(100+g/100)
= X(100+20/100) = 120X/100= 6x/5
This becomes CP for B
Hence CP for bicycle for B = 6x/5
Given B sells the bicycle to C at a profit of 25%
SP for bicycle =6x/5 (100+25/100)
= 6x/5 × 125/100 = 3x/2
The SP becomes CP for C
Given that CP of bicycle for C is Rs 3x/2
hence 3x/2 = 1500
X= 1500×3/2 = 1000
hence A paid Rs 1000 to buy the bicycle

HOPE IT HELPS..
