Let age of daughter be \mathbf{x}
and the age of mother be \mathbf{y}

\underline{A.T.Q,}

y - 5 = 7(x - 5)

\mathsf{\Longrightarrow} y - 5 = 7x - 35

\mathbf{\Longrightarrow -7x + y + 30 = 0 ----(1)}

Also,

y + 5 = 3(x + 5)

\mathsf{\Longrightarrow} y + 5 = 3x + 15

\mathbf{\Longrightarrow -3x + y - 10 = 0----(2)}

Subtracting equation (1) by equation (2), we get

\mathsf{\Longrightarrow -4x = 40}

\mathbf{\Longrightarrow x = -10}

\underline\text{Since, age can never be negative,} \\<br />\underline\text{We will take the numerical value of -10.}
|-10| = 10

Hence, \boxed{\mathbf{x = 10}}

Substituting value of \bf{x} in equation (2) we get,

-3(10) + y -10 = 0

\mathsf{\Longrightarrow -30 + y - 10 = 0}

\mathsf{\Longrightarrow y - 40 = 0}

\mathsf{\Longrightarrow} \boxed{\mathbf{y = 40}}
