Beloved:-

One dark, cloudy and frightful night, I saw, from the window of the room something unusual. Tracing something down was not of my sort, but that night, something was hitting my motivation up. I unlocked the door and wore my shoes. Walking with minoring steps, I was slapping my shoes on the winding lane. A long shadow of mine snaked along the roads and melted on the sideways of a Maruti 800, parked. Trees forming amorphous shapes was scaring me as if someone was behind. I started to quicken my pace, to somehow land at a conclusion, that it was just my mind playing tricks on me. I tried to avoid seeing things, and fake my mind that there was nothing unusual. I couldn't afford to make this very night memorable for something worst. Fresh tears were welling in the corner of my eyes. Fear was crushing me, I was dizzy, and could fall anytime. A loud sound tore the air, breaking my chest aloof. Maybe this wasn't my imagination or mind tricks. I didn't want to learn and turn behind, no matter what was that. I suddenly quickened my pace a bit more.

I was hating the thing that was rising inside me like evil. It was eating me, abruptly. I tripped over my feet and fell. I avoided seeing what was behind, covering my face, as if someone was about to pick me up. Slowly my hands lowered, and all I heard was a shouting silence. An emptiness, which seemed so fake. I was alone, standing here. Alone in the darkness, falling fast, really fast. Needed a hint of time, but hurrying out, I was now far, very far from the window, which attracted me. I turned back to the bus shelter, which was always there. It somehow performed as a beacon for me. Vehicle headlights appeared in the near distance, growing larger like a monster. And it hurried, making the wind slapping my face. It was late, and I knew, how painfully does the mind play with us.

I walked back to my home, with that same small pace of steps, which were making drastic noise in that quiet environment. Wondering, what if there existed something, that could have made this night guilty? What if, a beloved was taken away from someone in this darkness?
