Answer:

1) When a body is in free fall, it is falling under the influence of gravity. Therefore, the acceleration of the body becomes equal to acceleration due to gravity(a=g)

2)When a person stands on a cushion, area decreases, the pressure exerted will be greater. But a person lies on a cushion, area increases, and so the pressure wil be less.

The person exerts more force while standing than while laying on the cushion.

Explanation:

When the person stands on the cushion, the surface area of contact with the cushion is less, but when the person lays down on the cushion, the surface area of contact is more.

With less surface area, the force exerted on a body becomes larger.

Ex.- Take a pencil and sharpen one end now, slightly press both ends on your finger one by one. You will feel that the sharp end exerts more force as it will hurt more this is because less surface area = more force.

Thus, when the person stands on the cushion, tje depression is comparably more than when he lays down.

Hope This Helps
