4). (a)The sub atomic particle discovered by James Chadwick is neutron .It is located in the nucleus of an atom.

(b). (1) If k and l shells are filled then total number of electrons would 10. As k shell can accommodate only 2 electrons and l shell can accommodate only 8 electrons.

(2) Its valency would be 0.

(3) no. of electrons = atomic number, so element is neon .As neon has 10 atomic number.
