Solution:-i)Bullet will not hit the ground because can can see clearly that the ball will move in direction of resultant of v and u with magnitude (v^2+u^2)^1/2

ii) Let the angle between R and u be ∅

then

tan∅=v/u

∅=tan^-(v/u)

from second figure,we can see that

distance covered by bullet in horizontal direction=Rcos∅=(v^2+u^2)^1/2 ×cos(tan^-(v/u)
