a) osmosis is the diffusion of water across a membrane . Active transport moves particles from low to higher concentration

b)a genotype refers to the genetic characteristics of an organism. a phenotype refers to the physical characteristics for example . blue eyes are phenotype and lacking the gene for brwn eyes are genotype.

c)karyokinesis is defined as the division of the nucleus during the M phase of the cell cycle . the daughter chromosome is separated into two daughter nuclei. cytokinesis ,on the otherhand ,is defined as the division of the cytoplasm during the M phase of the cell cycle.

d)mitosis creates two identical daughter cells that each contain the same number of chromosomes as their parent cells. meiosis gives rise to four unique daughter cells, each of which has half the number of chromosomes as the parent cell.

e)turgor pressure is the force within the cell that pushes the plasma membrane against the cell wall. it is also called hydrostatic pressure and defined as the pressure by fluid measured at a certain point within itself when at equilibrium.
