R1 and R2 are in parallel so 1/R =1/R1 +1/R2...........
we get R(parallel) = 2 ohm ...
Then this combination is in series with R3 ......
so R(series)= 2+4 = 6 ohm.....
now this combination is parallel to R4 ....
so 1/R(eq)=1/6+1/3....
R=2 ohm
Option (2) is correct i.e. 2 ohm
