Question :-

Sumesh was putting covers on his notebooks. He put one-fourth of the covers on Monday. He put another two-third on Tuesday and the remaining on Wednesday. What fraction of covers did he put on Wednesday.

Answer :-

Given :-

  • He covers ¼ of book on Monday
  • Covers ⅔ of book on Tuesday
  • Remaining books on Wednesday

To Find :-

  • Fraction of books he covers on Wednesday.

Solution :-

Let the total number of covers be x :-

Covers he put on Monday = ¼ x

Covers he put on Tuesday = ⅔ x

Total covers he put on Monday and Tuesday = ¼ x + ⅔ x = 11/12 x

Covers he put on Wednesday = x - 11/12 x

= 1/12 x

Fraction of books he covers on Wednesday = 1/12
