5(x+3)-1=y [given]
5(x+3)=y+1
x+3= (y+1)/5
x= (y+1)/5 - 3
therefore option (d) is the right answer

x⇒ add 3
∴ x+3

x +3 ⇒ multiply 5
∴ 5(x+3)

5(x+3) ⇒ Subtract 1
∴ 5(x+3) - 1

So, 5(x+3) - 1 = y
⇒ 5(x+3) = y+ 1
⇒ x+3 = (y+1)/5
⇒ x = (y+1)/5  - 3

Therefore, (y+1)/5  - 3 will result in x (Option D)

I hope this helps you ^_^
