hypotonic solution =if the medium surrounding the cell has a higher water concentration than the cell , meaning that the outside solution is very dilute , the cell will gain water by osmosis. such a solution is known as a hypotonic solution

hypertonic solution=if the medium has a lower concentration of water than the cell, meaning that it is a very concernated solution the cell will lose water by osmosis. such solution is known as hypertonic solution.

isotonic solution=if the medium has exactly the same water concentration as the cell , there will be no net movement of water across the cell membrane. such solution is known as isotonic solution

function of plasma membrane. regulates entry and exit of substance in and out of cell. it provides mechanical support to the internal structure of the cell

types of osmosis. endomosis=it is the osmotic entry of water into a cell. exosmosis=is the osmotic withdrawal of water from a cell

hope it's helpful for you. don't forget to mark as brianlist
