Given : Length and breadth of a rectangular garden are 35 m and 25 m respectively. There is a path 1.5 m wide all around the garden.

To Find The area of path?

Solution :

Length and breadth of a rectangular garden are 35 m and 25 m respectively.

The area of the rectangular garden is A

lxb

Ap = 35 x 25

875 m²

There is a path 1.5 m wide all around the garden.

The length became 35+1.5+1.5=38 m

The breadth became 25+1.5+1.5-28 m

The outer area became A = 1 x b

Ai = 38 x 28

Ai = 1064 m²

The area of the path = Outer area - Area of rectangular garden

The area of the path = 1064 m² - 875 m²

The area of the path = 189 m²
