  • 1) indicator is a manmade or natural substance which help to know the solution is acid or base or neutral. eg :- methly orange wnd turmeric
  • 2)olfactory indicators are those indicator which help to indicate weather the solution is acid or base by smell
  • 3) a) acids are those which dissociate hydronium ion in its aqueous solution eg :- 1)HCl + H2O----- H3O ion + Cl - 2)CH3CooH +H2o ---- H3Oion + CH3Coo- b) base which dissociate OH - ion in its aqoues solution. eg :- 1) NaOH + H2o----- OH - ion + Na +ion 2) NH4OH + H2o ----- OH ion + NH4 ion c) alkali are those base which are very corrosive in nature they are base of group 1
  • 4) because adding acid in water is highly exotermic process which may blast and burn ur face and cloth
  • 5) in photo pl refer it
  • 6) because in absence of water ,acid does not give out its H+ ion or Hydronium ion
  • 7) as in their aq solution it do not give H + or Hydronium ion in water , therefore it is not an acid
  • 8) Ph of a solution signifys that the solution isacid or base with a specific no btw 1 to 14 if it is acid it have no btw 0 -6.9 and if it is base it have ph btw of 7.2-14 and if it is 7 it is nuetral
  • 9)if hydrogen ion concentration is increased then it is acid and if it decreases then it is a bases
  • 10)yes base also have hydrogen ion but it have more OH - ion in it

hope it will help u
