number of moles of Mg= mass of Mg/molar mass of Mg
= 12g/24g = 0.5 moles

1 mol of Mg reacts with 1 mol of H2SO4 to give 1 mol of MgSO4 and 1 mol of hydrogen.

(Ratio- 1:1:1:1)

Therefore 0.5 mol of Mg will react with 0.5 mol of H2SO4 to give 0.5 mol of MgSO4 and 0.5 mol of hydrogen.

Mass of MgSO4 formed = number of moles of MgSO4 x molar mass of MgSO4

= 0.5 x 120 = 60g

60g of MgSO4 will be formed.
