Answer:

When a marble reacts with the dilute HCl

Calcium chloride, Carbon dioxide and water will formed.

CaCO3+HCl CaCl2+CO2+H2O

When the evolved gas which means carbon dioxide passed through the lime water it turns to milky white which is insoluble in water.

Ca(OH)2+CO2 CaCO3+H2O

And when this CO2 passed excess in the lime water, Then the solution become colourless and forms calcium bicarbonate which is soluble in water

Ca(OH)2+ CO2(excess) Ca(HCO3)2
