My answer is 8 cm as the area of a triangle=1/2*base*height.From this formula we get the longest altitude of this trianle

pankaj64: You're answered is wrongs
Nishan11: I think there is no answer given in the option
Nishan11: the probabaly answer is√128
pankaj64: answer is wrongs
Nishan11: there,base and perpendicular is same , that is 8
Nishan11: then determine the hypotenuse from base of perpendicular.
Nishan11: hypotenuse =base√2=8√2

As it is a isosceles right angled triangle,two of its sides are equal and by Pythagoras theorem we know that height^2 + base ^2 = hypotenuse^2
And from these we can conclude that the sides that are equal are height and base
The longest altitude of a triangle is its altitude itself. Hence from these
1/2* base * height = 32
B* H = 64
H^2 = 64 (as we concluded above that height and base are equal)
H= height = 8cm

Nishan11: think there is no answer in the option given
Arghya777: no
sanjana44: Then what's the answer
