i) 3a-2b=3(-1)–2(2)= –3–4= –7

ii) –5ab+2a= –5(–1)(2)+2(–1)=10-2=8

iii) 3b²–4a=3(2)²–4(–1)=12+5=17

=>-5×-1×2 +2×-1

minus minus gets cancelled and it becomes positive.

=>5×2+(-2)

=>10-2

=8

(iii)3b²-4a

=>3(2)²-4(-1)

=>3×2×2-4×-1

=>3×4+4

=>12+4

=16
