In question they asked to find the sum of diagonals
they also gave the perimeter of square is 40cm

so we have find the side of the square
so from perimeter formula we are finding the side as 10cm
In a square are angle is 90deg
so when we joinAC , we get a Right angle triangle ABC
by using Pythagoras Theorem
we are finding the length of AC
In a square diagonals are equal
AC=BD=14.4
sum of diagonal =AC +BD
=2AC
=2(14.14)
=28.28cm

I hope this answer is helpful to u

mohamedshameem: But how did you get 14.14 cm
ganeshgs7djoker: root2=1.414
ganeshgs7djoker: so 10X root2= 14.4
ganeshgs7djoker: *14.14
