Please can anyone tell the the correct answer in points

If x = 2k - 1 and y = 3k + 1 then find value of k in the linear equation 3x - 2y -8 = 0 also find the actual value of x and y.

b1 = 2

a2=3

b2=k

in no solution case

a1/a2 = b1/b2 not = c1/c2

k+1/3 = 2/k

k(k+1)=3×2

{k}^{2} + k = 6

or

so \: {k}^{2} + k - 6 = 0

or

{k}^{2} + 3k \: - 2k - 6 = 0

or

k(k+3) -2(k+3)=0

(k-2)(k+3)=0

so k=2 or k=-3
