The garden offered me a sanctuary and to my eyes, an addiction. They would be as still as the stars in a night sky and watch the tender dirt below out of which grew new - born leaves and stems. In the garden stood my worthless self, spellbound by my curiosity and the gift with which I have been bestowed upon. There were fountains made of carved marble, pure white, and such beautiful texture that you could see your eyes reflecting back. Water from them tried to rise to the heavens but alas, one cannot go very near to the sun without being melted. It fell like a chain, a drop upon another, a stream of blue - green hue, being born from what it dissolved in, and then thawing the layer of its origin just to return to what it was. But what was I? I was insignificant. But this was witchcraft. The hedges filled with flowers, crimson, yellow, fuschia, blue and colors ineffable would draw you close, closer to a point where the green vines start to bind your consciousness and make you care no more about the consequences. Nature is an enchantress. She could do what no man can, but yet behave like a slave for it means no harm. I would've promised the Almighty that only He can do better than what my mind has seen until I saw the magnificent marble fountain, with carvings of Gods and Demons, water falling like soft rain in a softer breeze, standing there still, and content. My feet were lifeless. The stairs enslaved them and took them wherever they went; wherever I went.
