please describe green house effect in almost 50 words.

Greenhouse effect is the trapping of the sun's warmth in a planet's lower atmosphere, due to the greater transparency of the atmosphere to visible radiation from the sun than to infrared radiation emitted from the planet's surface.

greenhouse effect is nothing but the tapping of heat from sun's rays die to release of greenhouse gases in the the atmosphere which causes global warming which ultimately causes melting of ice at the poles which causes rise in the sea water level.
