Ryotwari System
This system established a direct settlement between the government and the ryots,i.e the cultivators. The revenue was directly collected from the cultivated and it was quite high.
Mahalwari system
A collective settlement was made with a group of villagescalled mahal.Since the land, the forests and the pastures belong to the village community, the the village where jointly responsible for the payment of land revenue .
