Explanation:

Head to tail means to join the force by their heads and tails.

In the above diagram we will first draw a force F1 and join the tail of the next force i.e F2 to the head of the first force F1.

Similarly, we will then join the tail of F3 to the head of F2.

To complete the shape the last vector (force) is joined as it's head to the head of F3 and it's tail to the tail of F1.
