Please do not report this question but I want to know why am I not able to message someone in brainly? I can see their profile and follow them but cannot message. How do I overcome this problem? Thank you. (This question is purely intended for educational purpose.)

Here's your answer,
If you are able to see someone's profile, and not able to message him/her, there can be two possible situations :-
1. First, that you might not have sufficient points to get the message facility availed.
Though, after checking your profile, I know that this has not happened.
Therefore, the second situation is :-
2. Either you have blocked him/her, or that person has blocked you.
In that case :
If you have blocked him, if you are through website, when you click on the "Write message" option, your webpage will not display anything, and will switch you back to your own chats.
Whereas,
If a person has blocked you, a dialog box will appear, mentioning :
"This user is not receiving messages at the moment."
(This happens in case of app).
If you have blocked someone, whether knowingly or uknowingly, and wishing to unblock, follow the given steps :-
1. Login through browser on the Brainly website and open up the user's profile.
2. Remember, to click on the "Desktop site" checkmark option.
3. Click on the "Write message" option. The desktop site will take you to your inbox and you will be getting a dialog box mentioning :-
"Oops!! You have blocked this user. Click here to unblock. "
Hence, unblock and enjoy chatting.

Go through the website, and comment on the user's profile and ask him to unblock you
