Basically, there are three types of matter, Solid, liquid and gas. Let's discuss their volume one by one.
Solids:
→The volume of solids remains unchanged when undisturbed.
→It has specific value and dimensions as well.
Liquids:
→Volume of liquids also remains same.
→But if we talk about the dimensions, it takes the shape of the container in which the liquid is placed.
Gas:
→The volume of gases is fixed only in a closed fixed container.
→If somehow the container is changed, the volume changes according to the volume of the new container.
→The most important thing is that the container must be closed otherwise the volume of the gas can be considered as indefinite.
