$total \: resistance = 9 + 6 + 5 = 20ohm$

$and \: v \: = ri$

total current= 2 a

v= 20×2=40v

it is total potential difference

but 2 baterry are connected for each individual resistor then

total v = 40 - 12+4

= 24 v

option a is correct
