Ferrous amonium sulphate has formula:

(NH4)Fe(SO4)2.6(H20).

Before I explain this question I explain what is oxidation.

oxidation :

Addition of oxygen, removal of electrons and hydrogen is called oxidation and removal of electrons has +ve value.

And you remember that Ferrous means +2 and Ferric means +3.so,option A(+2) is the answer.

Answer: +2

Explanation:

“Ferrous” refers to iron in its +2 oxidation state. (“Ferric” means +3.)

Always remember

Ferrous=+2

Ferric =+3

Similarly.

Hg+=mercurous. Hg++= Mercuric.

Cu+= cuprous. Cu++= cupric.

Pb++=plumbous. Pb++++= plumbic

Sn++= stannous Sn++++= stannic.

Whenever there are two possible oxidation states-lower one ends with —OUS & higher with—-ic.

Hope it helps you..
