chemical bond is the force of attraction between two or more atoms of a molecules. There are mainly three types of bonds-
1.Ionic bond- The bond in which atom of one element lose electron to complete octate whereas other gain to complete it's octate . for ex-
sodium has 1 valence electrons so to get stable it will lose 1 electron and form sodium cations whereas chlorine will gain this as it has 7 valence electrons. So Sodium chloride will be formed.
2.Covalent bond -The bond in which electrons are shared to get stable or to complete octane.for ex-chlorine has 7 valence electrons, it need 1 more electrons to get stable .So two chlorine atoms will share one electron to get stabled and form Cl2.
There are two types of covalent bond-
1.polar bond- the covalent bond in which poles or charges are created
As in HCl
2.Non -polar-that without formation of charge as in chlorine gas
3.Dative bond or co-ordinate bond-in this lone pair of electron is losed or gained.
